Expressions of Liberty

A commentary on the governmental respect for natural human rights as expressed by the founders of the United States and how it effects us today. I also show how the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution and other related documents are not dead documents in America today, but merely ignored and misused.

Name:
Location: Champaign, Illinois, United States

I am a classical liberal which is considered a type of conservative in these modern days. I am pro-right to life, pro-right to liberty, pro-parental rights, pro-right to property and a number of other natural human rights.

The Administration Betrays The People By Having Mercenaries Guard Our Ports

When I first heard about The United Arab Emirates taking control of our ports I was sure that the messenger had the message wrong because our government would not be that foolish to give control of U.S. ports to a foreign nation. Sadly I was mistaken.

A company at the Port of Miami has sued to block the takeover of shipping operations there by a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates. It is the first American courtroom effort to capsize a $6.8 billion sale already embroiled in a national debate over security risks at six major U.S. ports affected by the deal.

First to hire mercenaries to defend you is ludicrous because you can never trust them to stay paid even if they were American mercenaries. Then to invite communist mercenaries to guard our ports sounds like you are just begging for trouble. State owned businesses is a sure sign of a communist government whatever else it claims.

Communism: An economic theory which stresses that the control of the means of producing economic goods in a society should reside in the hands of those who invest their labor for production. In its ideal form, social classes cease to exist, there is no coercive governmental structures, and everyone lives in abundance without supervision from a ruling class. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels popularized this theory in their 1848 Communist Manifesto.

The United Arab Emirates has a travel warning out.

Foreign nationals visiting the United Arab Emirates are advised to be very vigilant due to a significant terrorist threat to westerners. For further advice, contact the relevant local government travel advice department.

Third, is what everyone is complaining about, we have a Muslim country where foreigners are warned to be very vigilant because there is a significant terrorist threat to westerners. If they can not secure there own country against terrorist why do we believe they can secure ours?

This seems another case of our government selling our country in the name of Globalization. The good thing about this is that, according to an article in The New York Sun, even the Democrats legislators such as Charles Schumer, Frank Lautenberg, Chris Dodd are opposed to the deal. Not to be left our, Republicans legislators such as Mark Foley, Vito Fosella, Tom Coburn, and Chris Shays have spoken against it.

This will come back to bite the administration and I think it should. As you have said, this act has sold us out essentially to the enemy. Bush needs to stop trying to be moderate to get his numbers up. Conservatives get elected. Look at Reagan.
